Copy That is an independent practice tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT), the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA), any state motor vehicle agency (including the California DMV), or any police or law enforcement agency.

The "officer" in the app is an AI voice. It is not a real officer and does not speak for any agency. Our questions, road signs, and commands are based on public information and on what drivers tell us they were asked. A real roadside check may be different.

No guarantee of any result

Practice does not guarantee any result. Using Copy That does not mean you will pass a roadside English Language Proficiency check, avoid an out-of-service order, pass a state retest, or keep or get back any license, job, or load.

Only the officer or agency doing the real check makes the decision.

Scores are estimates

Results such as "Likely pass", "Borderline", and "Likely out of service" are our estimates for practice. There is no published score for the real check, and the pass line we use is our own estimate.

AI feedback may contain mistakes

Copy That uses automated speech-to-text and AI analysis. They can make mistakes. For example, the app may hear a word wrong, grade an answer too high or too low, give an English example answer that is not perfect, or explain a road sign or translation incorrectly. Do not rely on the app as your only source of information.

Not legal advice

Copy That does not give legal advice. Nothing in the app explains your rights or your obligations under federal or state law, or what to do about a specific out-of-service order, citation, or license. For that, contact a qualified attorney, your employer's safety department, or the agency involved.

Safety

Never use Copy That while driving. Practice only when your vehicle is parked in a safe, legal place.
